Talk to people, not about people – If someone drops the ball, everyone has the tendency to talk about them, and not to them. There’s nothing more destructive to a team then talking about people behind their back, or allowing your team to do the same.
Be wise in “thinking out loud”
Prepare people for an announcement – If you’re about to drop a bomb or change the direction of your student ministry, it shouldn’t be a surprise to those people it affects the most.
Talk about the thing people are obviously avoiding
